The 40″ electric smoker stands tall with even more internal space than the previous model due to its new design. It’s easy to clean as the brackets holding the shelves in place are easily removed, and you can see the digital display clearly both day and night due to the bright blue LEDs that are mounted on the front of the top of the wood smoker, along with the front-mounted digital controller. The bright LEDs light up the whole area around the smoker as well as the inside so you can check your progress at night.
It comes with a handle at the rear and wheels so you can move it around easily. The built-in meat probe thermometer will tell you the internal temperature of the meat without having to open the door losing heat to insert your thermometer! There is also a patented side chip loader, internal drip rack, internal water bowl, and front-access grease tray for easy removal.

I used this Masterbuilt 40″/102cm unit for first time yesterday and had perfectly smoked fish.I have never smoked anything in my life.This unit is extremely simple to us and Iwoud recommended it to anyone.
Got this for hubby’s birthday and so far he has smoked pork, beef, chicken wings, sweet potatoes, corn and ribs.
It has been really simple to use and the smoke flavour in the meat and veg has been sensational.
The glass window is great to keep an eye on smoke levels and the look of the meat without having to open the door.
Looking forward to trying some bacon and jerky next!!!!
I highly recommend anyone thinking about buying this product to get it you will be very happy you did. we have been making some of the best tasting foods chicken and pork and would love to try jerky. The smokey flavour is beautiful
I had previously owned the smaller version. This surpasses it in every way, a lot of thought has gone into this machine being able to use the built in digital probe without opening the door makes it more efficient and consistent in its cooking. The glass door enables you to keep an eye on your smoke level and cooking process again not having to open the door. Smoking food is a messy business, there’s no getting around that. This unit is significantly easier to clean and has had collecter for liquid running down the door that directs it out on to collection tray and away from the seals. The ease of monitoring, cleaning and most importantly the quality of the food I’m cooking is excellent. It’s worth the extra money.
Having gotten this a few days ago i have only had the chance to use it twice, but i am amazed at the quality of this product. The temprature has only fluctuated 3 degrees either side of the set temprature, the size of this thing is impessive and a leg of lamb looked a little lost. the the built in meat probe takes the guess work out of cooking and the remote means once i shut the door i dont have to go check on it untill its done. On my first cook one load of chips (half a cup) smoked the leg of lamb to perfection, the second cook (chicken) i wish i did an extra half load, half acup of chips create a trunk load of smoke. This unit is definitely worth the doller. The only things i would have to tell some one getting this is to clean the glass before it cools down and to cover the water bowl, both the trays with aluminium foil as the edges are a bit sharp and the water bowl trey felt like it might fold when i was putting all my weight into scrubbing it after the drippings got baked onto it.
If you want quality and ease of use you cant go wrong.
Got this smoker for my hubby for Xmas and he’s used it a few times already – chicken, salmon, chicken wings and drumsticks, pork butt and sausages. It’s been super easy to use and the food came out with such amazing flavour! The only downfalls that my hubby mentioned were that the chip holder was a bit small (the older models had a much bigger one) and the drip tray was difficult to clean. Other than those small things, we absolutely love it and can’t wait to use it again!
I bought this smoker in Jan 2017 after a lot of research. The key for me was the words “for beginners and for the lazy” both are relevant to me so this product works perfectly. Very easy to use! The remote and internal meat probe meant it is easy to get perfect results first time.
Some beginner tips that have helped me immensely…..foil foil foil, you can’t use enough foil on the trays etc this makes cleaning SOOOOO much easier. Other than that, don;t be scared. Smoked everything tastes great!
its’a bit to early for me to do a review as I just received this smoker last week and does not have make much with it yet, I tried to do some smoked salmon on cold smoking but the wood chip seems to have no time to heat up enough to produce good smoke, I will try next time to use sawdust which should produce smoke more quickly.
I noticed that the temperature rise well over so a close look to temperature will be important when I will attempt to make wiener frankfurters, I was a smallgoods maker by trade and I do want to make my own stuff as the manufactured products are kind of poison full of additives etc…
If I can do a review in a few month I will be happy to do so.
I think that this smoker/oven will do the job for me.
This is my second Masterbuilt Electric Smoker. I loved the first but my two cattle dogs loved it more and destroyed it. I bought another well known brand that was OK but never quite compared with my original. I purchased a new Masterbuilt 40″ Electric Smoker and I am very pleased I did. Simple to operate, very effective in that you can add extra smoke throughout the process to taste, set and forget time and temperature easy to read digital controls, clear glass viewing door and an internal temperature probe, multiple smoke source options,make it an excellent choice. Stainless steel racks are easy to clean as is the glass. No mess drip tray setup and an ample water reservoir that needs filling only once. The sturdy stand is another plus. (I added castors to the base of the stand and now even my 6yo grand daughter can move it effortlessly. Perhaps this could be included in future models). You will not be disappointed with this product.
This is a great smoker with exceptional service from Misty Gully/Smoked and Cured. I really don’t have the space for a ‘real’ smoker and this is the perfect solution.Tidy but big enough to do a range of foods (I have served 40 people).
What a great smoker.
The size of 40” is perfect for people with limited space, but can fit alot of food on the inside, and the small handful of wood chips used every 45 minuets to 1 hour produces an amazing amount of smoke.
The smoker stand is a worthwhile accessory as it raises the unit to what I think is a better height, and the sides can be boxed in to create a useful cubby hole, add castor wheels and it becomes easier to move around.
