These all natural hog or pig intestine casings are made to meet Australian food standards.
This pack contains around 20 metres of casing and will fill approx 12kgs of sausage.
Hog casings make the best eating and cooking sausage, these skins will expand and contract during cooking which almost eliminates the chance of bursting.
It is always best to cook a snag on a lower, slower temperature to avoid the potential of bursting.
These natural sausage casings are suitable for a larger continental size sausage like a Bratwurst and come packed in salt. Once opened you simply need to keep them refrigerated in the food grade zip lock pouch they come in and keep them salted and moist. Storing them this way will ensure that they remain good quality for a very long time.
USAGE: Simply pull out the quantity that you feel you might need and soak them in water for several hours to rinse off the salt and rehydrate the casings. Run water through them, using the end of your tap. If you have some remaining when you have finished making sausages just re-salt them and put them back in the bag in the fridge.

Am very new when it come to making sausages but a mate of mine was here to help. We used venison,pork fat an beef trimmings with some of the liquid smoke I also bought from this site. The sausages were bang on with even the fussiest eaters eating them . A great product

After visiting Thailand and sampling the real thing, thought I would have a go myself. To stay authentic as possible used the natural hog casing and for a 1st time sausage maker found that the process was pretty simple using the product.

Great product, prompt delivery. First time I’ve bought casings online and highly impressed with the service.
A little nervous using these for the first time – I normally get them fresh from a local butcher. But these were perfect. Used them on two types of sausages – a Wisconsin style bratwurst and a pork, fennel and orange. Easy to use, no breaks and snags tasted great.

I prefer to use natural casings for my smaller fermented sausage such as Land Jaeger. The Smoked and Cured size 36 runners are conveniently packed in a resealable container. They are good quality with long runs free of blemish holes. Other brands of runner have had perforations at regular intervals from the cleaning equipment.
Runners were very well cleaned and had little residual odor when re hydrated. I also flush the runners inside after soaking, by placing an end over a tap outlet helping the runner to unwind in the sink, making them easier to handle.
I kept one star off my rating as natural casings are not as easy to handle as synthetics.

Great casings easy to use when making sausages

Have not had any issues with these casings breaking whilst filling them as opposed to others I have had.
I’ve been scared up until now to use real casings as I was told that they were too hard to use, exact opposite, these were very easy to use and with the Kransky mix I got a fantastic result.
These casings i feel are top quality, easy to use and make sausage making easy and the end result is a quality product.
First time making sausages. Casings were easy to clean and work with it. Sausages cooked great, no splitting and the texture was really yum!
